Scheduled's story

Scheduled is a Notion integration built by me (Julien Collet πŸ‘‹) as a solopreneur. Here is the story of a SaaS from Reunion Island.

A few words about me

I'm Julien, and I'm a passionate maker. I learned coding more than 10 years ago, and during those years, I never spent a moment without coding.
‍

After my studies, I tried to launch my first company, which was an epic failure. Then, I had the opportunity to work with great companies like OCTO Technology as a software engineer and Qonto as a growth engineer. Both were the perfect combination to learn how to make things better and how to execute fast. After Qonto, I launched a company with my ex-colleagues. We joined Y Combinator, raised money, and hired a few people. It was an incredible adventure!
‍

But running and growing a startup at this level was not for me. I finally decided to leave the company (and Paris after 12 years living there) to return to my family for La RΓ©union. I took a 4-month break before thinking about a new adventure. I knew what I wanted. A small business where I can do what I want as a solopreneur.
‍

A few words about Scheduled

In the beginning, Scheduled was not Scheduled. It was Split. A SaaS to help content creators to write, split their content for multiple social platforms, and schedule them.
‍

Bad idea because everyone compared Split to Buffer or Hootsuite. Of course, it takes a lot of work to build better software as a solopreneur vs. a full-team company with money. So, I killed it.
‍

Instead of trying to understand how to twist the product, I restarted from zero. The goal: "Do not reinvent the wheel!". If Buffer and Hootsuite do the job, why do we need Split?
‍

For 1 month, I did what I wanted to ease with my product but only with the tools on the table. I write my content on Notion for a better organization and use Buffer to schedule it on social platforms like LinkedIn. I started with LinkedIn because my community was bigger compared to other platforms.
‍

After 1 month, I knew where the pain was: copy-paste my work daily from Notion to Buffer. Here is how Scheduled was born. It was like an obvious idea for me. Suppose I can schedule and publish my content from Notion to LinkedIn. In that case, I'll never use a social media scheduling tool like Buffer anymore.
‍

I took another month to build a product. Another one to beta-test with 50 people. And another one to launch my SaaS company as a solopreneur. Now I work full-time to give content creators the perfect Notion integration to schedule their LinkedIn posts from Notion ✌️
